We have just received devastating news
Beautiful Apollo who was seized by @Devon and Cornwall police force has died in police approved kennels.
He is yet another young, healthy dog who should never have lost his life. He wasn’t a danger to anyone, his only crime was appearing to be XL type, he passed his behaviour assessment, that we arranged for court, with flying colours, he was a good boy.
His case was due to be heard last month to ask for exemption for him and the other family dog, Nynx, who is still being held by the police, the case was adjourned and relisted for February 27th.
Our laws fail good dogs, banning dogs by appearance, not temperament, has never kept the public safe, it never will. Apollo should still be here, he was not a danger to anyone!
If you live in the Devon and Cornwall police force area, please contact your MP, ask them to look into the welfare of seized dogs, ask them to question the suitability of approved kennels in secret locations. Due to the secrecy we cannot complain to the licencing authority for these kennels, maybe the MPs can get answers.
We will continue to fundraise for Nynx as adjourned cases cost in extra fees for barristers and experts to attend.
So sorry the system failed you Apollo, you didn’t deserve any of this. RIP Apollo
